How To Report Emergencies, Crimes Or Criminal Activity

To report an emergency, a crime or criminal activity on campus, call the Security Office. Shoreline Community College Security Officers will respond to all reports of emergencies, crimes and/or criminal activity. Officers will complete an "Incident Report" for any crime occurring on Shoreline Community College property. Reports are confidential within the guidelines established by the General Education Provisions Act (Buckley Amendment) and the Campus Security Act. (Amended 1998). As a service to the Shoreline Community College community, some reports are made available free-of-charge, to the complainant to assist him/her to file an insurance claim.

Crime reports may be made at any time of day, seven days, per week, and 365 days per year. Remember - prompt reporting greatly improves campus safety and security.

Emergency/Safety Phones (call boxes)

For your convenience and protection, 7 safety phones have been placed around the college property. Yellow call boxes are located on buildings with a blue light above them. These phones may be used to request help during an emergency, personal escorts or any assistance needed. The yellow boxes are located at these positions.

This is a hands free telephone and there is no dialing of numbers; simply press the red button on the yellow box and it will put you in direct contact with security personnel.

Call Campus Safety and Security if:

Call quickly.

Don't assume someone else has made the call. Try to provide the Security personnel with accurate, detailed information about the problem. Stay on the phone until the Security personnel say it's okay to hang up. Depending upon the emergency, the Security personnel may also request assistance from the appropriate law enforcement agency and/or fire and ambulance service.

Sexual Assault
