Multicultural Center
The Multicultural Center provides an opportunity for people of all cultures to meet, to explore their
cultural origins and to work toward understanding, respect and appreciation for
the diversity within our campus community and society.
The Multicultural Center
promotes student academic success
and personal empowerment. Students meet to study and to socialize; they are able
to utilize computers with Internet access, discuss academic and multicultural
information and share multiple perspectives.
The Multicultural Center
offers lectures, workshops and
special events that are designed for staff and community members to develop and
enhance their multicultural awareness, knowledge, and skills.
Financial Aid Resources
Students can access resource materials at the
Multicultural Center library and learn more about how to

The Campus Ambassadors are two
Shoreline Community College students under the
supervision of Multicultural Center and Women’s
Center staff, who will perform a variety of duties
during the 2009-10 school year. Here are a few:

Conduct campus tours for
prospective students
-
Create opportunities for all
students to interact, socialize and receive peer
support
-
Facilitate peer focus groups with
diverse student populations to discuss their SCC
experiences
-
Work with International Peer
Mentors to create friendships between domestic
and international students
-
Collaborate and work closely with
Student Parliament, as needed
Each Campus Ambassador will work a
maximum of 15 hours
each week and will earn
$11.11 per hour.
Required weekly hours will include meetings with
supervisory staff, campus outreach and activity
programming.
Required Qualifications:
-
Be registered for fall quarter
2009 at Shoreline Community College for a
minimum of 6 credits
-
Be enrolled at Shoreline
Community College during the 2009-10 school year
-
Maintain a cumulative grade point
average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher
-
Be available to attend a weekly
staff meeting and all Leadership Team trainings
(see Application)
