Carli Edwards Memorial Scholarship
The Carli Edwards Memorial Scholarship assists
Criminal Justice majors at Shoreline Community
College who are survivors of domestic abuse.
Financial assistance is provided toward the
purchase of textbooks. Scholarship is offered
fall, winter and spring quarters.
Dr. Princeton Co Emergency Fund for Dental
Hygiene Students
The intent of this fund is to
provide emergency assistance for Shoreline
Community College Dental Hygiene students who
are in dire need of financial assistance.
General Application for Assistance
For students who are experiencing temporary
financial stress, the Foundation may be able to
help you complete your education. Emergency
scholarships, grants and loans are available for
eligible students in financial need who show a
true commitment to their career goals and meet
certain criteria. Please check with the
Foundation office for more information.
Ken LaFountaine First Nations Scholarship
This scholarship is intended to provide First
Nations Students (students indigenous to the
Americas and associated territories) with
financial assistance in a time of need to
prevent disruption of their continued studies at
Shoreline Community College.
Nell F Brown Emergency Fund
This fund provides emergency assistance for SCC
Nursing students who are in dire need of
financial assistance. Please check with the
Foundation office for more information.

Academic Excellence Scholarship for Graduating
High School Seniors
The Academic Excellence scholarships are
available to graduating high school seniors in
the Shoreline/Lake Forest Park area who are
enrolling at SCC for the 2009 - 2010 school year
and have demonstrated strong academic
performance, leadership qualities and
involvement in school and community activities.
Academic Improvement Scholarship for
Graduating High School Seniors
The Academic Improvement scholarships are
available to graduating high school seniors in
the Shoreline/Lake Forest Park area who are
enrolling at SCC for the 2009 - 2010 school year
and have demonstrated consistent, positive
academic improvement in the last three
semesters.
Beta Sigma Phi - VCT Scholarship
This
scholarship is intended to attract, encourage
and assist talented students enrolled in the
Fine Arts programs at SCC. The fund will be
given to outstanding fine arts students, full or
part-time.
Boeing Company Scholarship
This scholarship supports Shoreline Community College students who are pursuing a degree in manufacturing, engineering, information technology or business management. Two $500.00 scholarships will be offered to SCC students who will be attending Shoreline Community College during the 20090-2010 year and meet the eligibility criteria.

Dental Hygiene Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded to two full-time Shoreline Community College Dental Hygiene students. The award of $500/student may be used for tuition, fees, and/or books at SCC; or other associated school or professional fees for SCC dental hygiene students such as equipment, and testing fees.
Dr. Bill Johnson Scholarship
Dr. Johnson was a professor of mathematics at
Shoreline Community College for 25 years. He had
a strong commitment to student success and was
always willing and available to help students in
the sometimes perplexing world of mathematics.
Award is for a student who has a strong emphasis
of study in mathematics or science.

Elizabeth Thomas Alumni Scholarship A Shoreline Graduate of 1972 began her
career as a LPN, completed her AA AS degree
at Shoreline and became a RN. Elizabeth
continued her education at Seattle
University and was the first African
American to complete the Pediatric Nurse
Practitioner program at the University of
Washington School of Nursing and the first
one to work as an ARNP in Seattle.
Elizabeth was a pediatric nurse practitioner
at Odessa Brown clinic for over 25 years
before her retirement. Due to Elizabeth
many contributions in practice and in her
contributions through the district and state
nurses association she was inducted into the
WSNA Nurses Hall of Fame in 2000 Awards will
be given base on need; merit; and commitment
to serving diverse communities and potential
in nursng.
Eric Niemitalo Scholarship in Earth and
Environmental Science Eric Niemitalo was a student at Shoreline
Community College. He was working towards an
Associate of Science degree and planning to
transfer to a 4-year College to pursue a degree
in Environmental Science with an emphasis in
Geology. This scholarship is given in memory of
Eric to assist promising students to carry on
Erics dream and continue their studies in Earth
or Environmental Science (i.e. Geology,
Environmental Science, Geography or
Oceanography)
Friends of Mary Automotive Scholarship
The
Friends of Mary Automotive Scholarship was
established by the friends and family of Mary
Nelson, a Shorewood High School Graduate who
attended SCC. This scholarship is in memory of
Mary and her love of autos and provides
financial assistance to women in the automotive
program at Shoreline Community College.
Ina Knutsen Scholarship
Ina Knutsen was the first female member of the
Shoreline Community College Board of Trustees.
Ina wanted to continue her strong commitment to
education and established the Ina Knutsen
Scholarship fund. Applicant must be a single
parent with a child/children under age 18 living
at home.
Ivan
Braga Scholarship
Ivan Braga was a student at Edmonds-Woodway High School and a member of the class of 2006.
Ivans dream of attending college to become a surgeon was tragically interrupted by his premature
death. This scholarship is given to assist promising students to carry on Ivans dream of attending
college.
Joan Heeter Memorial Scholarship
Joan went to Olympic college in her 50s and
became a nurse. After her death, her husband
established this fund in memory of his wife.
This scholarship is for nursing students and will be awarded
based on need and with preference given to
midlife women returning to school.
Joseph Wood Rogers Memorial Scholarship
Joe Rogers was on the associate faculty of
Shoreline Community College. He received his PhD
in electrical engineering, but his true passion
was mathematics. This scholarship is given to
assist promising students to continue their
studies in mathematics at an accredited
four-year college or university.
Mallett Nursing Scholarship
Margaret Mallett was born in 1912 in North
Dakota. She came to the Northwest in 1923
where she graduated from Ballard High School in
1930 and from Seattle General Hospital School of
NUrsing in 1933. Margaret passed away in Seattle
in 1989. This fund was established in
memory of Margaret by her son. This
nursing scholarship award will be given based on
need, merit and community involvement.
Margaret Svec Scholarship
Margaret E. Svec was a member of the English
faculty at Shoreline Community College from
1964, when the college opened, until 1978. She
has won awards for her poetry and has been
published in magazines and journals. Since 1978,
Margaret has actively supported the Womens
Center as a presenter, mentor, advocate,
advisory committee member and donor. Recipient
must be a female student who demonstrates
financial need.
Ron
LaFreniere Business Scholarship
Ron LaFreniere was a professor of Business Administration at Shoreline Community College for over 35 years. Upon his retirement, Ron wanted to continue his strong commitment to student success and established the Ron LaFreniere Business Administration Scholarship.
SCC Continuing Students Scholarship
The Shoreline Community College Foundation will
offer scholarships to SCC students who will be
continuing their education at Shoreline during
the 2009 - 2010 academic year. These
scholarships are available for students who
demonstrate good academic performance and
involvement in school and community activities.
SCC Part-Time Student Scholarship
The Shoreline Community College Foundation will
offer scholarships to SCC students who will be
continuing their education at Shoreline during
the 2009 - 2010 academic year. These
scholarships are available for part time
students who demonstrate good academic
performance while working
25 40 hours a week.
VIVA Hispanic Foundation NW Scholarship
The
VIVA Hispanic Foundation is committed to giving
Latino youth and families life long learning
experiences through a series of initiatives and
programs that enables them to become successful
and contributing citizens of our community.
These scholarships, funded by the VIVA Hispanic
Foundation NW, are available for students who
are of Hispanic descent and attend SCC.
