SCC GRAD WRITES LYRICS FOR NEW SONG OF WASHINGTON
The University of Washington has a new Song of Washington, with lyrics written by Catherine Henderson, a 2006 SCC graduate!  Check it out on the UW web site.

The song, "Rise Up with Pride for Washington," with music by award-winning composer Bill Conti, will be unveiled at an invitation-only event celebrating the conclusion of a fund-raising campaign, Campaign UW.  The song will also be available online at 8 p.m., Friday, Sept. 26 at http://www.washington.edu/discovery/uwsong/.

Henderson is the mother of three and grandmother of one.  She and her husband perform in her band, "Quarter Past 8."  She plays rhythm guitar and sings, and writes her own songs.

Henderson receives $1,000 and a lifetime membership to the UW Alumni Association.

WE HAVE A WINNER!
The SCC Foundation is happy to announce that Nicole Drumm’s name was drawn from entries received in the 2008 Alumni Commencement Day Drawing. This was an outreach to our new Alumni. New graduates who walked in commencement were eligible to enter the drawing by filling out their contact information and dropping the entry off at the Alumni table at the reception in the PUB following graduation. The entries were put in a drawing to win their choice of a $50 gas card or $50 Subway gift card. Nicole chose the gas card. Nicole will be transferring to Central Washington University in the fall where she will be studying foreign languages. Congratulations, Nicole!
