Jim McDermott The incumbent, Jim McDermott (D), is an ardent supporter of universal health care and a national response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic. McDermott also supports campaign finance reform, an effective transportation infrastructure and reproductive choice.

Carol Thorne Cassidy Carol Thorne Cassidy's (R) motto is "do the right thing." A career educator, Cassidy now aspires to congress. Cassidy pledges to support President Bush's affirmation that the attacks of 9/11 will never happen again by attending memorials in New York City. Cassidy also supports Bush's reductions in income taxes.

Stan Lippman Stan Lippman (L) is committed to alternative energy source development, universal health care and school choice. Lippman promotes an end to the War on Drugs as well as the implementation of a national high-speed rail system. Lippman is opposed to aggression in the Middle-East.
