Shoreline Advances to Semi-Finals of
Turkey Shoot Basketball Tournament:
Shoreline Community College Lady Dolphins defeated
Blue Mountain Community College 71 to 62 on Friday night to advance to
play South Puget Sound CC in the semi-finals of the SCC Turkey Shoot
Women's Basketball Tournament.
The game was a one point affair at half-time but
Shoreline pulled out to a 10 point lead in the second half and stymied
every BMCC attempt for a comeback in the latter stages of the game.

Women's Soccer Has Seven Players Named To
NWAACC North-East All Team:
The Shoreline CC Women's Soccer Team dominated the
selections to the NWAACC North-East All-Star Team with seven selections.
Making the team were Sophomores: Brittany Willis,
Brittany Chase and Cassie Foust. While four Freshmen made the squad,
Melanie Boutcher, Rochelle Hann, Lacee Ross and Kat Donovan.
Boutcher is a forward, Willis, Hann and Ross,
mid-fielders, Chase a defender and Donavan, goal keeper.
The North-East Squad, made up of All-Stars from
Northern and Western Regions of the NWAACC will fast the South-West
All-Stars in December at Clark College in Vancouver, WA.
Jordan Ingalls Makes North-East All-Stars
For Men's Soccer:
Sophomore Jordan Ingalls was the lone SCC Men's
Soccer Player to be named to the NWAACC North-East All-Stars. He will
represent Shoreline at the NWAACC Men's Soccer All-Star Game at Clark
College in December in Vancouver, WA.
Women's Basketball Tournament - "Turkey
Shoot" Opens on Friday:
SCC will host its annual Turkey Shoot Women's
Basketball Tournament over the November 21-23 weekend in the Shoreline
CC gym. 8 teams will compete for the championship which Lane College won
last year.
Opening Round Games on Friday Night:
2:00 PM - Whatcom CC vs CC of Spokane
4:00 PM - Highline CC vs Lane
6:00 PM - "2 DA HOOP" - South Puget Sound (2 Da
Hoop is a group of former college players in a club team)
8:00 PM - Shoreline vs Blue Mountain
Winners play at 6:00 and 8:00 on Saturday, losers
at 2:00 and 4:00.
The Championship is 4:00 PM on Sunday.

2008-09 Lady Dolphin Basketball Team
Shoreline Women's Soccer Advances On Penalty
Kicks:
The Shoreline Lady Dolphins advanced to the
Semi-Finals of the NWAACC Women's Soccer Tournament on Saturday at
Shoreline Community College Soccer Field by defeating Clark College 4-2
on penalty kicks after a scoreless game and overtime.
The Lady Dolphins had to overcome playing most of
the second half short a player as Melanie Boutcher was red carded and
had to leave the game with no substitution allowed. The Dolphins still
dominated play but could not score. SCC also controlled overtime
but again failed to score.
In the Penalty Kick part of the game, where the
goalie is one on one with one offensive player with five chances to
score. Shoreline scored four straight goals while Clark missed one shot
and goal keeper Kat Doovan saved one shot.
SCC now plays at the Starfire Complex in Tukwila,
WA, just South of Seattle on Saturday in the semi-finals of the NWAACC
Championship. The Dolphins play Walla Walla Community College the number
one ranked team in the NWAACC at 11:00 AM or 1:30 PM on Saturday.
 
Shoreline Women's Soccer to Host Clark
College Saturday In NWAACC Playoffs:
Clark College of Vancouver, WA defeated Highline
College 1-0 to earn the right to face the Shoreline CC Lady Dolphins
Saturday in the second round of the NWAACC Playoffs. The SCC squad
received a bye in the first round by the venture of winning the NWAACC
Northern Region title for the 4th straight year.
The Lady Dolphins are 17-1-2 (the one loss by
forfeit) and face Clark who is 11-7-3 on the season. SCC has not played
Clark this season but had defeated Highline once during the 2008
campaign, 2-1 and tied them 1-1.
The game will be played on the Shoreline Community
College Field at 1:00 PM on Saturday. Cost is $5.00 for adults and $3.00
for students and seniors. SCC students are admitted free.
Men's Soccer Falls To Wenatchee Valley In
NWAACC Playoffs:
The Shoreline Community College Men's Soccer Team
fell to Wenatchee Valley CC on Wednesday at the Shoreline Stadium Field
1-0 in the first round of the NWAACC Playoffs.
The teams battled to a 0-0 tie at half-time, after
Shoreline missed several opportunities to score. Wenatchee Valley broke
through at about the 60 minute mark with a goal. SCC kept the pressure
on and had one goal called back because of off-sides and missed several
other chances, including one point blank shot that went wide.
The Dolphins finished the season 6-9-4 on the
year, they were second in the NWAACC Northern Division behind Whatcom
Community College who they tied twice during the year.
Volleyball Finishes Long Season With Loss To
Edmonds CC:
The Lady Dolphin Volleyball Team finished the
season on Wednesday night with a 0-3 loss to rival Edmonds Community
College. The Dolphins still had hopes to make the NWAACC Playoffs going
into the game, as a win and a loss by Skagit Valley would have sent SCC
to the playoffs, but Skagit Valley defeated Everett CC and with SCC's
loss, the Lady Cardinals of SVC took fourth place in the NWAACC Northern
Division and Shoreline finished in fifth.
SCC was 12-30 on the season and 4-8 in the NWAACC
Northern Region.
SOCCER TEAMS HOST PLAYOFFS THIS WEEK:
Men's Soccer:
The Shoreline Community College Men's Soccer Team
hosts a First Round NWAACC Playoff Game against Wenatchee Valley
Community College at 1:00 PM on Wednesday at the Shoreline Stadium.
The SCC men's soccer team finished second in the
NWAACC Northern Region with a 6-8-4 record. Northern Region Champion
Whatcom CC gets a bye in the first round and Third Place Edmonds CC
travels to the Community College of Spokane.
Wenatchee Valley is 11-3-4 on the season and was
tied with Spokane for second place in the NWAACC East Region but was
seeded third by tiebreaking procedures. Shoreline and Wenatchee have not
played during the regular season.
The game was moved to the Shoreline Stadium due to
the success the SCC team has had on "Turf" fields this season and
matches their ball control style of play better than a grass field.
If Shoreline wins on Wednesday, they will travel
Saturday to Oregon to play Chemetaka Community College, the winner of
the NWAACC South Region.
Shoreline Women:
The NWAACC Northern Region Champions, the SCC Lady
Dolphins will host a second round playoff game on the Shoreline
Community College Soccer Field on Saturday, November 15th at 1:00 PM.
The SCC squad earned a first round bye in the play-offs by winning the
Northern Region for the fourth consecutive time.
SCC will face the winner of Highline Community
College and Clark College who play at Clark College on Wednesday,
November 12th at 1:00 PM. Clark is 10-7-3 on the season and finished 2nd
in the NWAACC South Region. Highline is 8-5-7 in 2008 and finished third
in the NWAACC West Region. SCC defeated Highline twice during the
regular season. They did not play Clark in 2008.
If the Lady Dolphins win on Saturday, they will
move to the semi-finals of the NWAACC Women's Soccer Championship to be
played at the Starfire Soccer Complex in Turkwila, WA November 22-23.
SCC finished third in the championship last season, losing to eventual
NWAACC Champions Clackamas in the semi-finals and beating Highline in
the third place match.
Volleyball Still In NWAACC Playoff Hunt:
The Lady Dolphin Volleyball Team still have
playoff hopes going into the last regular season game of the year, as
they face region leading and rival, Edmonds Community College on
Wednesday night at 7:00 PM in the ECC gym.
SCC and Skagit Valley College are tied for fourth
place in the NWAACC Northern Region with 4-7 records, after the Lady
Dolphins topped the Cardinals on Friday night in an exciting five game
match in the SCC Gym. The Dolphins won the match - 24-26, 25-23, 26-28,
25-20, 15-11 to draw even with SVC.
If both teams win or lose on Wednesday night,
there will be a playoff game at Skagit Valley. If one team loses and one
team wins, then the winner is in fourth place and will advance to the
NWAACC Championship. Shoreline as the tougher road to go, as they play
league leading Edmonds with a 10-1 record in the Region, while Skagit
Valley faces Everett CC, who is in 6th place in the region.
Shoreline Soccer Teams Sweep Edmonds CC In
Tough Matches:
The Shoreline Community College Soccer Teams swept
Edmonds Community College in matches on Wednesday at the SCC Soccer
Field.
In a critical match for the Shoreline men's team,
the Dolphins broke open a close game in the second half and went on to a
3-1 victory. Both teams were tied prior to the match for second place in
the NWAACC Northern Region with 19 points each. Shoreline opened the
scoring early with a goal by Jeff Nissen in the 9th minute of the game.
Edmonds tied the score in the 36th minute off a set play from an
in-direct kick set-up by a controversial call. The half ended with a 1-1
tie. Shoreline scored quickly in the second half on a goal by Casey
Berlin in the 47th minute when the ECC defense failed to clear the ball
from in front of their goal. The SCC squad scored an insurance goal by
Daniel Hume in the 77th minute.
The win puts SCC alone in second place of the
NWAACC Northern Region with 3 games left to play. The team will host a
NWAACC first round play-off game if they hold second place. The team is
not 6-5-4 on the season and face Peninsula Community College on Saturday
on the road and play their final regular season home game on Wednesday,
November 5 at 3:00 PM.
 
In the women's game, the NWAACC Northern Region
Champions, the SCC Lady Dolphins, held-off a determined Edmonds CC team
with a 1-0 victory. The teams fought a defensive struggle in the first
half and battled to a 0-0 tie.
But the Lady Dolphins broke through with a goal by
Melanie Boutcher in the 61th minute on an assist by Cassie Foust. The
Shoreline defense remained firm and recorded their 12th shutout of the
year for the win.
Shoreline has secured a first round bye in the
NWAACC playoffs and will host a second round game on the SCC Soccer
Field on November 15th. The Lady Dolphins have 3 more regular season
games left and will play at Lower Columbia Community College on
Saturday. They play their last regular season home game on November 5
against Highline Community College at 1:00 PM.
 
Volleyball Loses To Bellevue 0-3:
The Shoreline CC Women's Volleyball Team lost to
Bellevue Community College on Wednesday night 0-3 (20-25, 11-25, 16-25).
Katrina Periz led the Lady Dolphins with 20 assists as the SCC squad
fell to 8-26 on the year, 2-7 in the Northern Region.
Women's Soccer Clinches NWAACC Northern
Region Championship:
The Shoreline Community College Women's Soccer
Team clinched it Fourth NWAACC Northern Region
Championship in a row on Saturday with a 2-0 victory over Green River
Community College in Auburn, WA. The Lady Dolphins are now 15-0-1 on the
season and will receive a first round bye in the NWAACC Soccer Playoffs
and will host a second round playoff game on Saturday, November 18th.
On Saturday, the team was led by Brittany Willis
who scored both goals for the Dolphins. The first goal was scored in the
40th minute off an assist by Amber Vinegar. Willis scored again in the
second half with the assist of Rochelle Hann.
SCC faces rival Edmonds Community College on
Wednesday, October 29th at 2:00 PM on the Shoreline CC campus. The
Dolphins pulled out a 1-0 victory of the Tritons earlier in the year on
a late goal by Cassie Foust in the 85th minute. Edmonds is 8-7-1 on the
season and in third place in the Northern Region.
The Shoreline Men's Soccer Team plays Edmonds at
4:00 PM that same day. Both Edmonds and Shoreline are tied for 2nd place
in the Men's Northern Region.

Volleyball Wins Two at Wentachee Valley
NWAACC Crossover:
The Lady Dolphin Volleyball Team won two of seven
matches in the Wentachee Valley NWAACC Crossover. The SCC squad defeated
Highline Community College and Umpqua CC in the two day event.
The team is 8-25 on the season and 2-6 in the
Northern Region, one game behind Skagit Valley College for the final
playoff spot in the region.
Volleyball Suffers Defeat To Whatcom
Community College:
The Lady Dolphin Volleyball Team traveled to
Whatcom CC on Wednesday night and suffered a defeat to the Lady Orca
volleyball team. Game scores were 25-16, 25-15, 25-15). The SCC squad
was lead by Katrina Perez with 14 assistants.
SCC falls to 6-19 on the season, 2-5 in the NWAACC
Northern Region, 1.5 games behind Skagit Valley for the fourth and final
playoff spot.
Men's Basketball Team Helps at YMCA
Opening:
The Shoreline CC Men's Basketball Team helped open
the new Shoreline YMCA on Saturday, October 4th.
 
Soccer Teams Sweep Olympic:
The Shoreline Men's and Women's Soccer Teams swept
Olympic College on Saturday in Bremerton, with both squads shutting out
their opponents in 8-0 and 5-0 victories.
In the women's game, the Lady Dolphins scored
three first half goals with Carrie Foust providing two of them and
Melanie Boutcher the opening goal about 15 minutes into the match. In
the second half, Shoreline scored five times with Brittany Chase scoring
twice, Brittany Willis, Lacy Thompson adding one each and Melanie
Boutcher adding her second goal of the game.
Shoreline runs it record to 12-0-1 on the season
and is ranked 3rd in the most recent NWAACC Women's Soccer Poll. They
have a week off and face Tacoma Community on Saturday, October 18th, at
the Shoreline CC Soccer Field at Noon.
In the men's game, Shoreline broke open a 0-0
first half tie and exploded for five goals in the second half. Five
different Dolphins scored for SCC with Jordan Ingalls opening the
scoring followed by goals by Daniel Humes, Jeff Nissen, Anthony
Zawitkowski and Curtis Mott.
SCC pushed it record over .500 for the first time
this season and solidified its second place position in the NWAACC
Northern Region. The Dolphins are now 5-4-3 on the season and play
Tacoma Community College on Saturday at the Shoreline Soccer Field at
2:00 PM.
Volleyball Loses To Skagit Valley And
Edmonds To Drop To Fifth:
The Lady Dolphin Volleyball Team dropped two
matches last week, losing to Skagit Valley, Wednesday night, on the road
1-3 and then to league leading Edmonds on Friday at home, 0-3.
In the first match against Skagit, the Dolphins
split the first two games with the Cardinals but could not win another
game in two hard fought battles. The final score was 21-25, 25-23,
21-25, 22-25 in a hotly contested match. Tiara Fernandes led the SCC
squad with 14 kills. Chauntel Tes and Tashayla Ray also contributed 10
kills each. This lost put Shoreline in a tie with Skagit for fourth
place in the NWAACC Northern Region, the last playoff spot.
On Friday at home, the Dolphins faced Edmonds CC
who entered the contest with a 22-5 record, and a undefeated 5-0 mark in
the region. Shoreline battled hard, especially in the second game,
losing a heart pumping 25-27 game. Chauntel Tes had 11 kills for SCC
while Chris Sabo contributed 4 blocks. This loss dropped SCC into fifth
place in the region, one game behind Skagit Valley for the final playoff
spot.
The Lady Dolphins (2-4, 6-18) take it on the road
for the next three weeks, and return home on November 5 to face Olympic
College at 7:00 PM.
Women's Volleyball Defeats Olympic College
In Straight Games:
The Lady Dolphin Volleyball Team sweep Olympic
College in three straight games Monday night in Bremerton, WA. The SCC
squad won with scores of 25-12, 25-20 and 25-14. The win brought
Shoreline's NWAACC Northern Region record to 2-2 (6-16 overall) and in
lone possession of 4th place in the Region. The top four teams in the
region advance to the NWAACC Championship in November.
Tiara Fernandes and Chauntel Tes lead the Dolphins
with 7 kills each. Setter Katrina Perez had 16 assists and 4 service
aces. On the defensive side, Sydney Hinnesbush had 13 digs for SCC.
The Lady Dolphins play again on the road Wednesday
night against Skagit Valley College. SVC is in 5th place, one game
behind SCC in the standings. On Friday, the Lady Dolphins host Edmonds
Community College who leads the Northern Division at 7:00 PM in the SCC
Gym.
 
Lady Dolphins Soccer Remains Undefeated But
Ties With Bellevue:
The Shoreline Community College Women's Soccer
Team tied Saturday with Bellevue CC in a hard fought match at the SCC
Soccer Field.
The Lady Bulldogs came out playing hard the first
part of the first half and put up a goal at the 9:00 minute mark to a
1-0 lead. The Dolphins reclaimed the momentum of the game about halfway
through the first half and kept pressure on the BCC squad but could not
put a goal in the first 45 minutes.
The Lady Dolphins continued to dominate the game
in the second half, and scored at the 80 minute mark on a goal by
Melanie Boutcher from an assist by Julee Thomas. The SCC squad hit the
cross bar on two other occasions but could not put a second score in and
had to settle for a time.
Shoreline (10-0-1) will play again at home against
Northern Region opponent Everett Community College at 2:00 PM on
Wednesday, October 8th. They take to the road next Saturday against
Olympic College.
 
Shoreline Men's Soccer Team Drops Match To
Bellevue 5-0:
The undefeated men's soccer team from Bellevue
Community College cruised to a 5-0 victory against the Dolphins at the
SCC Soccer Field. BCC scored 2 goals in the first half and 3 in the
second.
Shoreline (3-4-3) will face Everett CC on
Wednesday at 4:00 PM at the SCC Soccer Field.
 
Shoreline Volleyball Is Swept By Bellevue CC
3-0 in Volleyball:
The Bellevue CC Volleyball Team defeated the Lady
Dolphins 3-0 on Friday night. Game scores were 25-12, 25-18 and 25-22.
The SCC Squad was led by four players with 5
kills: Tiara Fernandes, Christy Cochrane, Carolyn Sabo and Tashayla Ray.
Katrina Perez had 18 assists for Shoreline.
The SCC volleyball team plays three times this
week, at Olympic and Skagit Valley on Monday and Wednesday and face
rival Edmonds CC at home Friday, October 10th, at 7:00 PM.
 
Soccer Teams Sweep Skagit Valley, Women Go
10-0 On Season:
The Shoreline Community College Soccer Teams swept
Skagit Valley College in men's and women's soccer on Wednesday, with the
SCC women's team pushing its record to 10-0 for the season with an
impressive 6-0 victory. The Shoreline men's team defeated the Cardinals
4-0 to revenge an opening game tie with SVC in late August.
For the women, Brittany Chase and Kathleen McGee
scored two goals apiece while Brittany Willis and Amber Vinegar scored
single goals. Brittany Willis had three assists for the Lady Dolphins
and Amber Vinegar had two while Navlet Chase had one.
On the men's side, four different players scored
for the Dolphins as Jeff Nissan, Casey Berlin, Daniel Humes and Curtis
Mott led the attack with a goal each. Humes and Berlin also assisted
with goals and Jordan Ingalls had the third SCC assist. The men even
their record at 3-3-3 on the season.
Both soccer teams play on Saturday, October 4,
against Bellevue Community College at the SCC Soccer Field. The women
play at Noon and the men, 2:00 PM. The Bellevue Women are 9-1-1 on the
season and Bellevue men are undefeated at 7-0-2.
Women's Soccer Remains Undefeated In
Dramatic Fashion:
The Shoreline Women's Soccer Team scored two goals
in the last 8 minutes of the match change defeat into victory at
Highline Community College on Saturday. The then undefeated HCC led
Shoreline 1-0 late in the game when Melanie Boutcher tied the game at
82nd minute from an assistant by Lacee Ross. Five minutes later,
Kahtleen McGee put the Lady Dolphins ahead 2-1 on a goal assisted by
Lacy Thompson.
The win moved the Lady Dolphin record to 9-0 and
they go for their 10th win of the year on Wednesday against Skagit
Valley College at 2:00 PM on the pitch at Shoreline Community College
Soccer Field.
SCC Volleyball Team Wins First Northern
Region Match of Year:
The Lady Dolphin Volleyball Team evened its
Northern Region record to 1-1 with a 25-14, 25-15, 25-17 victory over
Everett CC on Friday night. The team was led by Chauntel Tes with 10
kills and Katrina Perez who had 12 service aces and 15 assists as the
SCC setter.
The team faces Bellueve CC on Friday night at 7:00
PM in the Shoreline gym.
Men's Soccer Falls To Highline CC:
The Shoreline CC Men's soccer team fell to
undefeated Highline Community College 3-1 on Saturday afternoon. HCC
sports a 6-0-2 record and is tied for the lead in the Western Region of
the NWAACC Conference. Jeff Nissan scored the lone goal for Shoreline in
the 79th minute.
SCC record is now 2-3-3 and the team faces Skagit
Valley on Wednesday at 4:00 PM. Earlier this season, the two teams tied
1-1.
Men's Basketball Open Tryouts:
The Shoreline Men's Basketball Team will have open
tryouts for Shoreline Community College students for the 2008-09 season
on Thursday, October 9th, at 5:00 PM in the Gym (Building 3000). Please

Both Men's and Women's Soccer Defeat Edmonds
CC 1-0 on Wednesday:
In two hard fought battles, the Shoreline men's
and women's soccer teams won matches against rival Edmonds Community
College on Wednesday night at Meadowdale High School. Both teams won in
identical 1-0 victories.
The undefeated Shoreline women's team won on a
goal by Cassie Foust in the 85 minute. The men won on a goal by Ciran
Reagan.
Evan Gaul recorded the shutout for the men and Kat
Donovan for the women.
Both Shoreline teams face Highline Community
College on Saturday at Highline CC. The women's game features two
undefeated teams as Highline is tied for the lead in the Western
Division of the NWAACC with a 5-0-2 record and Shoreline sports a 8-0
record and leads the NWAACC Northern region. The Shoreline men are now
2-2-3 on the season and face Western leading HCC with a 5-0-2 record as
well.
Lady Dolphin Volleyball Losses to Whatcom:
The Orcas of Whatcom Community College defeated
the Lady Dolphins in 3 games in the opening game of NWAACC Northern
Region play. The scores were 25-23, 25-16 and 27-25.
The SCC squad tries to pull even in the Northern
region on Friday against Everett CC in the Shoreline gym.
Shoreline Volleyball Loses Three Matches On
The Second Day of Crossover:
A undermanned Shoreline CC team lost three matches
on Saturday in the second day of the NWAACC Crossover played at Bellevue
Community College. Shoreline was down to 7 players after a rash of
injuries depleted the team.
The Dolphins lost to Clark College (20-25, 15-25),
Columbia Basin College (17-25, 23-25) and Chemeketa CC (20-25, 10-25).
Shoreline's record dropped to 4-14 on the season.
The Lady Dolphins open their home schedule on
Wednesday, September 24th, at 7:00 PM in the Shoreline Gym against
Whatcom Community College in the opening Northern Region match for
Shoreline.
Lady Dolphins Shutout Lower Columbia CC 4-0
The undefeated Lady Dolphins of Shoreline
Community College defeated NWAACC West Region foe, Lower Columbia on
Saturday by the score of 4-0. The SCC squad used a balanced scoring
attack with three different players scoring. Sophomores Cassie Foust and
Brittany Willis along with Freshman Lacee Ross scored goals for the
Dolphins (Shoreline's fourth goal Lower Columbia scored on itself).
Assists for Shoreline were from Lacee Ross, Amber Vinegar and Brittany
Chase.
The Lady Dolphins are now 7-0 on the season and
play at Edmonds CC on Wednesday, September 24th.
Men's Soccer Loses Tough Match To Peninsula
CC:
In a hard fought match that featured 5 yellow
cards (3 on Peninsula, 2 on Shoreline), the Dolphins fell to a first
goal by Hugo Vasquez of Peninsula. The Shoreline squad dominated most of
the second half with several shots on goal, but could not put any away
and lost 0-1 to the Pirates.
Shoreline falls to 1-2-3 on the season and faces
Edmonds CC on Wednesday in an away contest.
SCC Volleyball Team Loses Three Matches at
NWAACC Crossover:
The Shoreline Community College Volleyball Team
lost three matches on Friday at the Bellevue NWAACC Crossover
Tournament.
In 2 out of 3 game action, the Lady Dolphins lost

Shoreline Women's Soccer Defeats Whatcom 6-0
Lacee Ross scored 2 goals and the Lady Dolphins
exploded in the second half for 5 scores as they wore down a game and
undefeated Whatcom CC team. Shoreline now has a 6-0 record on the season
and Whatcom suffered its first loss and is 5-1.
Ross opened the scoring in the 7th minute with a
goal assisted by Lacey Thompson. The SCC squad dominated the half but
could not put another ball in the net. But the Dolphins opened the
scoring two minutes into the second half with a goal by Brittany Willis
with another assist by Lacey Thompson. Four more goals followed: Lacee
Ross again at the 54 minutes mark, Kathleen McGee (67:00), Alex Navet
(75:00) and Julee Thomas (78:00). Brittany Willis assisted Mcgee's
scored as well.
Shoreline faces Lower Columbia on Saturday at home
with a Noon start time.
