Shoreline's Women's Doubles Team In Tennis Wins NWAACC Championship:
The Shoreline Community College's Women's Doubles
Team of Betty Wang and Kira Fiske defeated the team of
Ciara Schultz & Courtney Groszhans
from Bellevue Community College 2-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7-5) in an exciting final
that went to a tie-breaker in the final set. Fiske also finished third
in the women's single championship bracket.
 
NWAACC Women's Double Champions - Betty Wang
and Kari Fiske. Fiske also finished third in the women's
single competition.
For the Shoreline Men's Team, Wes Abney finished
third in the #1 Singles Division.

On the team side, the SCC Men finished third out
of five teams and the SCC Women finished 4th out of 6 teams.
Shoreline Softball Goes 0-2 in NWAACC
Softball Tournament After Heart Breaking Loss:
In the opening game against of the NWAACC Softball
Championship, the Shoreline Softball Team were up 2-1 in the 7th inning
against the #1 Team from the West Region, Pierce Community College and
then a hit, two bunts, 3 errors on one play and another bunt and the
game was over and PCC had won the game 3-2. The Lady Dolphins then fell
to Walla Walla CC 5-2 to be eliminated from the tournament. Walla Walla
went on to finish fourth in the tournament out of 16 teams.
The SCC Squad finished the season 23-24 after
starting out 0-10.
Erik Church Named Second Team All Northern
Region In Baseball:
Shoreline Community College Centerfielder Erik
Church has been named All NWAACC Northern Region Second Team. Erik
batted .312 for the season with 41 hits, 4 doubles, 1 triple, 1 homerun
and 18 RBIs in 40 games this season.

Erik Church, here congratulated for scoring
a run for the team was named Second Team All NWAACC Northern Region for
his play in centerfield and at the plate.
Five Shoreline Softball Players Named All
Northern Region:
Five members of the Shoreline Community College
Softball Team were named All Northern Region for the NWAACC Conference.
Make first team were Brittanie Thibodeaux, Catcher, Christina
Demuelenaere, First Base and Ali Jordan, Centerfield. On the second team
were: Lindsay Cook, Second Base and Athea Surface, Pitcher.

First Team - Catcher, and Athea Surface, Second Team - Pitcher.
Softball Team Finishes Final Weekend of
Regular Season 2-2:
The Shoreline Community College Softball Team
finished the final weekend of the regular season with a 2-2 record. The
Lady Dolphins swept Everett Community College 8-1 and 8-2 and then fell
to NWAACC Northern Region Champion, Bellevue Community College, 6-4 and
10-3 on Saturday at the University of Washington Field.
On Friday, the Lady Dolphins were dominant as they
took two games from Everett CC. In the 8-1 victory, Athea Surface led
the way by pitching a 4 hitter and hitting a homerun. In game two, Emma
Snow was the winning pitcher and tossed a 8 hitter in the 8-2 win.
On Saturday at the UW Field, the Dolphins had BCC
on the ropes in the first game, leading 3-0 in the fourth inning. BCC
scored one in the fourth and SCC came back to score another one in the
bottom of the inning, but it was all BCC from there as they scored 5
unanswered runs in the 5th, 6th and 7th innings. BCC was dominant
in the second game, banging out 19 hits, 35 hits in the doubleheader.
SCC finished 4th in the NWAACC Northern Region,
1/2 game behind Everett CC for third. The Dolphins had one rainout game
against Olympic College that could not be made up and SCC fell just
short of moving up one spot, as if Shoreline had defeated OC in the
make-up game, the Dolphins held the tiebreakers over ECC. But it was not
to be as time ran out on the team for the postponed game.
The Lady Dolphins will face Pierce Community
College in the first round of the NWAACC Softball Championship in
Portland, OR on Friday, May 16th.

BASEBALL FINISHES LONG SEASON WITH FOUR
LOSSES:
The Shoreline Community College Baseball Team
finished a long season by being swept by Skagit Valley Community College
in a four game NWAACC Northern Region series. On Saturday, the Cardinals
handed the Dolphins a doubleheader sweep by the scores of 11-6 and a
tough 2-1 loss. On Sunday, the home standing SCC squad fell again twice
by the scores of 8-5 and 16-9.
The Dolphins suffered through several one run
losses early in the season to set the tone for the year and then a flux
of injuries at the end, kept the Shoreline from being as competitive as
possible. The Dolphins finished the year 5-35 for the season overall,
with a 2-22 record in the NWAACC Northern Region.

Shoreline Softball Pounds Skagit Valley To
Qualify For NWAACC Championship:
The Shoreline Softball Team defeated Skagit Valley
15-0 in the first game of a doubleheader yesterday to clinch a play-off
spot in the NWAACC Championship to be played in Portland, Oregon May
16-18. The Lady Dolphins dropped in the second game of the doubleheader
3-2.
In the first game, the SCC Squad hit 6 home runs
and pounded out 15 hits in a dominant offensive performance led by
Christina Demuelenaere
and Katie Fuller who hit two homeruns each and Athea Surface and Lindsey
Cook who hit homeruns as well. Surface also pitched a 2 hitter for the
Dolphins. In the second game, Emma Snow took the loss for Shoreline as
they lost a tough 3-2 game. Athea Surface again hit a homerun to lead
the SCC offense.
The Lady Dolphins are in fourth place in the
NWAACC Northern Region, but only 1/2 game behind Everett CC for third
place. The SCC Squad plays Everett on Friday at Everett and then plays
Bellevue on Saturday at the Un. of Washington Softball Stadium. SCC also
has one make-up game with Olympic College to play as well but the date
has not been set yet. Shoreline will open NWAACC Championship play on
Friday, May 16th in Portland, Oregon against an opponent to be
determined.

NWAACC Northern Region Softball Standings:
Shoreline Softball Team Sweeps Peninsula and
Defeats Edmonds CC by Forfeit:
The Shoreline Softball Team swept Peninsula CC on
Friday, winning by the scores of 8-1 and 9-1. The pitching duo of Emma
Snow and Athena Surface held the PCC squad to 7 hits over two games and
Snow added two homeruns herself, one in each game to help the offense.
Carrie Burnstine went 4-4 in the second the games. The Edmonds CC
softball team could not muster enough players for today's doubleheader
and has forfeited to Shoreline. Shoreline will actually travel to Skagit
Valley today and play a postponed doubleheader against the Cardinals.
The two victories against Edmonds assures SCC of a
tie for the final playoff spot in the NWAACC North Region for the NWAACC Championship, starting May 16 in Portland
Oregon. One more win by SCC or a loss by Skagit Valley and Shoreline
will be going to the NWAACC Playoffs.
Shoreline's final home game of the year will be
played Saturday, May 10th against Northern Region Champion, Bellevue
Community College and the doubleheader will be played at Noon at the
University of Washington Softball Stadium.

Dolphins swept PCC.
Shoreline Baseball Team is Swept In Four
Game Series With Douglas College:
The Shoreline CC Baseball Team was swept in four
games over the weekend by Douglas College, from New Westminister, Canada
in a NWAACC Northern Region series. On Saturday at Douglas College,
Shoreline was defeated by the scores of 6-3 and 7-3. On Sunday at Lower
Woodland Park, the Dolphins were defeated by the scores of 5-0 and 8-1.
The Dolphins finish the season next weekend with a
four game series against Skagit Valley. The final home games is Sunday,
May 11th against the SVC Cardinals with game time at 1:00 PM.
Lady Dolphin Softball Sweeps Edmonds CC,
Playoff Bid Looming:
With 11 games to go, the Shoreline Community
College Softball Team is in good shape to go to the NWAACC Playoffs. The
team swept Edmonds CC yesterday, 12-4 in the second game and in the
first
game by Forfeit when Edmonds did not have enough players available at
game time. Christina Demuelenaere led the Shoreline offense in the first
game, going 2-3 with a double. This runs SCC's NWAACC Northern Region record to 14-11,
7 games ahead of Skagit Valley in the loss column for the fourth and
final playoff spot in the Northern Region. Shoreline plays its next 3
doubleheaders against teams lower in the NWAACC Northern standings and
then finish the season with Everett and league leading Bellevue CC and
has one make-up game with Olympic College.
Shoreline hosts Peninsula Community College
tomorrow, Friday May 2, at 1:00 PM at Shoreview Park in the last game of
the season at Shoreview.
Shoreline Softball Wins First Game, Rained Out
of Second Against Olympic:
The Shoreline Women's Softball Team won the first
game of a doubleheader with Olympic College 9-2 on Tuesday but the
second game was postponed due to rain. The team hosts Peninsula
Community College on Friday at 1:00 PM in the last game of the season at
Shoreview Park.
Green River Sweeps Shoreline In Tennis:
NWAACC Tennis Power Green River Community College
swept the Dolphins on Tuesday at Green River in a NWAACC Tennis Match.
Both SCC squads lost 8-1. The Green River men's team is the defending
NWAACC Champions from 2007.
Matt Chavez was the lone singles (at #3 singles)
victory for Shoreline during the day, winning 6-7, 7-6 and 10-4 in the
tiebreaker. On the women's side, the team of Betty Wang and Kari Fiske
at #1 Doubles won 8-5.
The Shoreline Women's Tennis Team goes to Bellevue
on Friday, May 2 to play the defending NWAACC Women's Champions at 1:00
PM.

Bellevue Sweeps Shoreline In Softball But
Dolphins In Solid Position to Make NWAACC Tournament:
The Northern Region leading Bellevue Community
College Softball Team swept Shoreline CC on Friday by the scores of 11-7
and 7-6. The Lady Dolphins brought their hitting shoes to the games
scoring 13 runs in the doubleheader, but they were unable to stop the
BCC attack that banged out 29 hits in the two games.
Katie Fuller and Emma Snow hit homeruns for SCC
but it was not enough to upset the undefeated in Northern Region play
BCC team. The Dolphins are 11-19 over all and 11-11 in NWAACC
Northern Region play. The SCC Squad plays at home on Tuesday May 2
at 1:00 PM at Shoreview Park against Peninsula Community College.
Shoreline Baseball Is Swept In Four Games
Over Weekend:
The Shoreline Baseball Team was swept in four
games over the weekend by Everett Community College. On Saturday at
Everett, the Trojans won 4-2 and 4-1. On Sunday at Lower Woodland Park
the Dolphins lost 5-4 and 9-2.
The SCC Squad fell to 5-26 overall and 2-14 in the
NWAACC Northern Region. The Dolphins play Douglas Community College next
weekend in a Northern Region four game set with Shoreline on the road in
Canada on Saturday and at home at Lower Woodland on Sunday at 1:00 PM.
